Exquisitely finished table lamp by Atelier MIRU for the latest collection, entitled BEAST. 2018. It is completely covered in oil paint and a structural material at the top to protect against the heat radiated by the light bulb. It is available with or without the light bulb. 

The application of the oil paint is reminiscent of waves in the ocean frozen in time. The solidification of liquid through time- something so untouchable- is a theme that the artist finds extremely intriguing. The fluidity of water and its transgression into a solid is definitely a point of reference throughout the collection.
