This striking chest of drawers by Atelier MIRU was created as part of the latest collection, entitled BEAST. 2018. It was completed in a durable material similar to cement on top (white) of the wooden structure. The blue elements are done in oil paint.

The surprise when opening the drawer reminds of the awe brought on by opening a geode rock and finding a gem inside. The scene is almost a shot taken above the ocean; waves crashing into each other. 

The extremely textural quality of this piece makes it not only a functional piece of art, but also offers a stimulating sensorial experience.
